A beautiful forest covered hill village
Penttilänvaara is above all a beautiful village: small fields, old courtyards, and clear Lake Kontioluomajärvi. The road connecting highways 20 and 5 runs through the village.
The village was spared from the ravages of the war, but traces of the trench railway and the prison camp remain in the village.
