According to the chronicle of the vicars of Kuusamo, compiled by vicar Antti Poukkula, the following have served as vicars:

Gabriel Tuderus (time in office 1675–1684), Henricus Cajanus (1684–1691),

Samuel Julenius (1692–1699), Sigfrid Bonelius (1701–1715),

Olof Junelius (1715–1716), Zacharias Forbus (1718–1734),

Jakob Chydenius (1734–1746), Petter Svebilius (1746–1748),

Johan Kranck I (1748–1784), Johan Kranck II (1784–1800),

Erik Castrén (1803–1816), Abraham Montin (1817–1824),

Johan Gustaf Costiander (1824–1833), Johan Gustaf Kranck (1836–1870),

Herman Ingman (1872–1875), Johan Lagus (1877–1880),

Victor Wilhelm Wichmann (1881–1894), Antti Adolf Gummerus-Waltavaara (1895–1917),

After this, Raimo Karvonen (1978–2007) and Veli-Matti Koivuranta (2007–2015) have served as the vicars of Kuusamo.

The vicar’s election in 1978 received wide publicity at the time, and the turnout for the election was a record high 61,22 percent for the entire church. In the elections, Raimo Karvonen received 4 461 votes and chaplain Osvald Carlson 2 457 votes.

The current vicar, Taina Manninen, started as vicar at the beginning of 2016. She is the first vicar born in Kuusamo. The priesthood was opened to women in 1986 and the ordination of the first female priests took place on March 6th, 1988. Taina Manninen was ordained a priest on November 5th, 1988, as the first Kuusamo-born woman.
